Shenandoah Winter

AVAILABLE FROM THE COMPOSER

Duration: 4 1/2 minutes

Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley holds some of the most beautiful sights
in the world. Nestled in the heart of the Appalachians, the region is
surrounded by tree-covered mountains which offer tremendous views year
round. In winter, the now leafless trees give a new transparency, which
offers an even more astonishing view of the desolate, snow covered valley.
“Shenandoah Winter” explores the contrasting sounds of close, icy
intervals and the open, desolate chords that represent the seemingly
lifeless mountainside.
