GLORIA

Instrumentation

Duration: 12 minutes

Drawing on inspiration from the great Glorias of Vivaldi, Poulenc, and countless others, this work also employs various modern techniques in use of harmony and mixed meter.

The second movement, Et in terra Pax, is written for the 21st century. Constant
calls for peace in the choir are counteracted by dissonant, war-like sounds from the orchestra.

The rest of this work features a mix of functional and quintel harmony, slow ,
floating passages, and joyous dance-like sections which are always on the move and eternally praising God.
