Instrumentation

Shortly after my successes with Gloria, I set out to create a piece that drew on the spirit of the former while employing a text and the technique suitable for the small church choir.  During a 2018 conference in Atlanta (incidentally, the same at which Gloria was recognized), I met award-winning lyricist, Jim Riggs, and we started a correspondence via email.  When I read this text, I immediately realized my search had concluded.  This is a text that is the epitome of joy, with the music written to allow that excitement to leave the page and come to life!
